![]() It was New Year's Eve of 1994 when five experienced bluegrass musicians from Southwestern Virginia and East Tennessee first performed together as Blue Highway. Since that first show, they have gone on to see tremendous success as touring and recording artists, with 8 albums to their credit, and a huge following both in and beyond bluegrass music. We are fortunate that they have chosen Roanoke to celebrate their 15 Anniversary on March 12, and The Jefferson's Shaftman Perfromance Hall is the perfect venue for such an august occasion. Blue Highway will feature material from their 8 CDs, plus their new compilation project, Some Day: A Fifteenth Anniversary Collection, a greatest hits album with 3 new tracks. Their show is dynamic and highly entertaining, mixing traditional bluegrass, riveting Gospel harmonies, thoughtful original material and an engaging - and often hilarious - presentation. “...among the most adventurous and experimental ensembles in bluegrass and acoustic music, and Blue Highway’s eighth CD Through the Window of a Train may be its finest.” The City Paper - Nashville, TN |
